NeHe Lesson 23: Sphere Mapping Quadrics In OpenGL

The 23rd lesson is finished. Nothing special on the D-front in this one. Go read the the text here.
Then grab the code from here.

D ... This isn't exactly the most appropriate place for this - but I can't find any help in the D forums. I want to compile the samples in the tutorials, but don't know how to setup D correctly. How do you compile D, and do you use an IDE? Windows?

Well, I can give a short trail you can follow and try to learn yourself.

First go to Tango's homepage http://www.dsource.org/projects/tango/wiki.
Read everything there and then download the correct version for your platform. Make sure you get a bundle which contains the compiler. Easier that way.

Then go to DSSS' homepage http://dsource.org/projects/dsss. And do the same. You can use DSSS to install the needed Derelict libraries. And of course build the lessons here.

The official D webpage http://www.digitalmars.com/d/1.0/index.html is a good place to go to learn about D.
